SECTION 3. PREPARATION FOR USE

.INTERCONNECTION

Connect the transceiver as illustrated in Fig. 3-1,3-2.

Microphone
Either a low or high impedance
microphone (50013 to 50 Icfi) can
be used. The P.T.T. switch
should be isolated from the mic
circuit (shown in 0)- Use a mi­
crophone with a separate switch
and MIC line so both P.T.T. and
VOX are available.

best suited for use with the

TS-430S
Stereo-type headphor>es can
also be used.

REMOTE conitector
External accessories can be con­
nected to the TS-430S through

the REMOTE conr>ector. The PTT
terminal can be used for remote

control of transmit/receive opera­
tion.

GNO terminal

It is recommended that a ground
lead be connected to the GNO
terminal at the rear of the set to
prevent the possibility of electric
shock, TVI and BCI. Use as short
and heavy a lead as possible.

External speaker
Besides the built-in
speaker, an external
speaker can also be

used. Connect to the
rear EXT SP jack us­
ing the supplied plug.
