2.1.1 Fluorescence microscope
The NucleoCounter
®
NC-
3000™ is a fluorescent microscope with a m agnification of
approximately x2. In the basic configuration it is equipped with 8 light sources and in
the future it can be upgraded to a total of 14 light sources. It has 9 emission filters,
and it can in the future be upgraded to a total of 20. All light sources and filters can
be paired in any possible combination, enabling extremely flexible analysis.
Two basic types of sample medias can be placed in the sample tray.
Cassette type
Like:
PI-Cassette
™ and Via1-Cassette™
Slide type
Like:
NC-Slide
™ A2 and NC-Slide™ A8
A number of different analyses can be run on the NucleoCounter
®
NC-3000
™. All of
them are documented in application notes describing the protocol to be used for the
analysis. The basis of all these protocols is to provide the operator with a set-up to
perform an extremely advanced analysis in a very simple manner so that all
personnel can be trained in a very short time.
