Remedy
Audio soundtrack and/or subtitle
language is not the one selected at the
initial settings.
If the audio soundtrack and/or subtitle language does not exist on the disc, the
language selected at the initial settings will not be seen/heard.
The menu is displayed in French
(example).
The setup “Menus” of “Disc Languages” is set to French: select English.
No subtitles.
•Subtitles appear only with discs which contain them.
•Subtitles are cleared from the TV monitor. Perform the steps on page 28 to display
the subtitles.
Alternative audio soundtrack (or subtitle)
languages fail to be selected.
•An alternative language is not selected with discs which do not contain more than
one language.
•In the case of some discs, the alternative language cannot be selected by
operating the AUDIO or SUBTITLE button. Try selecting it from the DVD menu if
one is available.
Angle cannot be changed.
This function is dependent on software availability. Even if a disc has a number of
angles recorded, these angles may be recorded for specific scenes only (when the
ANGLE indicator on the unit lights up.)
The password for age restriction has
been forgotten.
While the unit is in the stop mode, hold the unit’s SKIP button and the STILL/
PAUSE button down simultaneously and then hold the POWER button down for
longer than 3 seconds (until “Initialized" disappears from the TV monitor). The lock
will be released and all initial settings will return to the default values.
Remedy
No menu play.
This function works only for Video CDs with playback control.

When an error or trouble is detected during operation, a service number appears in the display window.
When a service number has appeared, check out the details given below.

Disc is dirty.
Wipe the disc clean.
HDD
Trouble is likely to have occurred. The
number following "H” differs depending
on the status of the player.
Switch the power to the standby mode and then return to ON.
Alternatively, switch the power to the standby mode,
disconnect the AC mains lead and then re-connect it.
If the service number fails to be cleared even when the
remedial action is taken, ask for the service engineer to repair
the player.
