Mounting the INU
Choose the best location for the INU:
• Find a firm, approximately level surface.
• Position the INU with the arrow on the top
facing in the direction of flight.
• Make sure that the box does not slip or
move. Use Velcro or the mounting bracket
to steady it.
• Assure that the INU is protected from being
kicked or knocked.
• Check that no large metallic obstructions
come between it and the Samsung.
• Adjust the position so that the INU power
switch is accessible.
In most cases, the floor is the best location for
the INU – under a seat, if possible. An optional
INU aircraft mounting kit is available that
secures the INU and the Aircraft Power Adapter.
Installing the Aircraft Power Adapter
Choose a location for the Aircraft Power Adapter
where it is out of the way, and run the cables to
the INU and the Samsung Tablet PC. The optional
mounting kit helps with the routing of cables to
reduce cockpit clutter.
Mounting the WxWorx Satellite
Weather Receiver
The optional WxWorx Satellite Weather
Receiver can be mounted near or on top of the
INU. It has its own power supply and antenna.
The optional Weather Integration Kit
consolidates GPS and XM antennas, as well as
the separate power supplies to dramatically
reduce cockpit clutter. The weather receiver
connects to the Samsung via Bluetooth, like the
INU. However, the WxWorx receiver has no
power switch and no internal battery backup; it
does not turn on until the aircraft power is on.
Note: While the WxWorx receiver may be
purchased at any time, the integration kit is
available only at the time of initial purchase.
Note: Failure to secure the INU, or installations
that are not level and forward-facing reduce the
stability and accuracy of AV8OR 3D.
Note: If the INU moves within the aircraft in
flight, AV8OR 3D displays a false indication of
motion, which can mislead the pilot.
