Rechargeable Batteries
When fully charged, the built-in battery will
power the Samsung PC
. To ensure full backup availability in case
of aircraft electrical failure, keep the battery fully
charged. In normal flight, the DC Power Adapter
runs the Samsung and charges its battery at the
same time. This adapter works on any aircraft
bus voltage from 12 VDC to 30 VDC. Indoors,
use the AC Power Adapter to power the Samsung
and charge its battery.
The Inertial Navigation Unit (INU) also has a
built-in rechargeable battery that runs it for about
2 hours when fully charged. The Aircraft Power
Adapter is also designed to run and charge the
INU concurrently. The INU does not have an
Indoor Power Adapter.
Note: All rechargeable batteries slowly lose
their charge during storage. If your AV8OR 3D
System has not been used for several weeks,
make sure that you recharge the batteries to full
capacity before flight.
Using the AV8OR 3D Simulator
AV8OR 3D has a Simulation Mode that you can
use to familiarize yourself with AV8OR 3D and for
flight planning. The simulator runs on the Samsung
Tablet and allows you to explore the functions of
AV8OR 3D using an animated control stick.
With a little practice, you can easily master
control of the simulator. All the features of
AV8OR 3D are available from within the
Simulator. You can even pre-fly flight plans and
approaches.
To run the simulator:
1. Turn on the Samsung.
2. Double-tap the AV8OR 3D program icon to
start AV8OR 3D. Do not turn on the INU.
3. When the USA map appears, click OK.
4. A dialog box with four buttons appears.
Click the Simulator button.
5. When AV8OR 3D starts in Simulator Mode, a
simulator control window appears with an
animated control stick, a sliding speed
control, and a Reset button. To start moving,
use the stylus to slide the speed control up
the screen, and then use the control stick to
fly.
6. The Reset button puts your virtual airplane
into straight and level flight.
Warning: AV8OR 3D is not to be used as a primary navigation reference. It is designed to be an aid to situational awareness and to
provide a backup reference in case of electrical or primary instrument failure.
