using a SIT tone. Listen to the RTP stream, or the WAV file in the Queue directory to determine what audio is
being received.
6D7A Ring back detected with no answer: Call was not answered in the configured time period. The timer is 45
seconds.
6D7B Fast busy tone detected: The number is not in service or the call has been rejected at a point beyond the
TDM network. A destination number on a PRI, T1 or DID trunk when the trunk is down can result in a fast
busy.
0x6F00 – SIP 400 Messages
6F04 404 Not found: The gateway rejected the initial INVITE with a generic “404 Not found,” and did not include
an additional Q.850 cause code. This could be because no SIP route could be found for the destination
phone number.
6F50 480 Temporarily Unavailable: The gateway rejected the initial INVITE with a generic “480 Temporarily
unavailable” and did not include an additional Q.850 cause code.
6F56 486 Busy here: The gateway rejected the initial INVITE with a generic “486 Busy here,” and did not include
an additional Q.850 cause code.
5F57 487 Request terminated: An in‐progress but not yet answered call was terminated by a BYE or CANCEL. This
can be caused by the gateway having a shorter no‐answer timeout than IPFax, and so terminates the call.
6F58 488 Not acceptable here: The gateway does not support either the G.711µ or T.38 codec.
0x7000 – SIP 500 Messages
7000 500 Server Internal Error: The gateway encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from
fulfilling the request.
7003 503 Service Unavailable: The gateway rejected the initial INVITE with a generic “503 Service unavailable.”
This could be due to lack of system resources, overload, or administrative maintenance.
0x7100 – SIP 600 Messages
600 class errors typically indicate fatal errors in the SIP gateway or network.
0x7200 – Q.850 Cause Codes
For more information on Q.850 cause codes, please see ITU‐T publication Q.850. All cause codes originate from the
TDM network and are passed through the gateway to IPFax.
7201 Cause 1, Unallocated (unassigned) number: The TDM network could not connect the call because the
number is not in service.
7210 Cause 16, Normal call clearing: The remote fax device hung up before the fax was completed. The gateway
included a Q.850 cause code 16, which indicates that the call hung up in a “normal” fashion, i.e. there was
no TDM network error.
7211 Cause 17, Busy: The TDM network rejected the call because the destination number is busy.
721C Cause 28, Invalid number format: The TDM network was unable to route the phone number. Some TDM
networks use this cause to indicate numbers that are no longer in service.
