1. Compatible dry-cell batteries
Alkaline batteries, manganese batteries, nickel hydride rechargeable batteries, and
NiCad rechargeable batteries can be used with this balance. Use four AA batteries.
No dry-cell batteries or rechargeable batteries are included with this balance.
Please purchase dry-cell batteries or rechargeable batteries and a charger
separately.
*You cannot charge batteries with this balance.
2. Installing batteries
To operate this balance with batteries, set batteries in the battery case and insert
the battery case into the balance.
*To make sure the balance remains waterproof and dustproof, secure the battery
case with screws so that there is no play.

3. Symbols displayed when the balance is battery-operated
When the balance is battery-operated, “
” is displayed. It changes depending
on the remaining battery capacity.
Symbol Description
The battery level is normal.
The battery level is low.
(Blinking)
The batteries have run down. Remove and charge them with
a charger, or replace them with new ones.
4. Battery run time
Continuous run time with alkaline batteries
• When the backlight is on: approximately 32 hours
• When the backlight is off: approximately 200 hours
The battery run time varies depending on whether values are output, where the
balance is placed, and under what conditions the balance is operated, in addition
to whether the backlight is on or off.
