6 Symbol in multifunction display indicat-
ing that rear window wiper is activated
̈ Switch on the ignition ( ୴ page 34).
Activating intermittent wiping
̈ Turn switch 1 to position 3.
Deactivating intermittent wiping
̈ Turn switch 1 to position 4.
Wiping with windshield washer fluid
̈ Turn switch 1 to position 2 or 5.
The rear window wiper operates with
washer fluid.
Hold switch 1 in position 2 or 5
until the rear window is clean.
For information on filling up the washer
reservoir, see “Windshield/rear window
washer system and headlamp cleaning
system*” ( ୴ page 333).
Problems while driving
The engine runs erratically and misfires
ț An ignition cable may be damaged.
ț The engine electronics may not be
operating properly.
ț Unburned gasoline may have entered
the catalytic converter and damaged it.
̈ Give very little gas.
̈ Have the problem repaired by an au-
thorized Mercedes-Benz Light Truck
Center as soon as possible.

The rear window wiper engages auto-
matically if the automatic transmission
is shifted to position R with the wind-
shield wipers switched on.
