Ther mo-Electr ic Cooler Care and Maintenance

Thermo-Electric Cooler Vent Cleaning

Vacuuming the vents once a year is recommended for maximum cooler performance.

Homes with multiple pets should vacuum the vents more frequently.

1. Turn the thermo-electric cooler off and unplug both power transformers.

2. Carefully lift the thermo-electric cooler from the arm of the chair and set in the seat.

3. Disconnect the power cord from the outlet on the backside of the cooler.

4. Use a vacuum with a crevice tool, or similar attachment, to vacuum the vents on the

lower sides and bottom of the cooler (F

1).

5. Lay the cooler in the seat and connect the power cord to the outlet on the cooler.

6. Carefully lower the thermo-electric cooler into the arm of the chair, making sure the

power connector is toward the back of the chair (F

IGURE

2).

7. Plug both power transformers directly into a wall outlet.

Thermo-Electric Cooler Storage

Proper storage of thermo-electric cooler is important if the cooler will not be operated

for an extended period of time.

1. Turn the thermo-electric cooler off and unplug both power transformers.

2. Follow the

Defrosting and Cleaning steps if necessary.

3. Make sure the inside of the cooler is completely dry.

4. Place crumpled newspaper inside the thermo-electric cooler to keep the cooler

fresh during storage.

Do not attempt to disassemble or service the pump or motor. No serviceable

par ts are inside. Contact your La-Z-Boy

dealer for ser vice infor mation.

Troubleshooting for 2-Motor Massage and Heat Function

There are no user maintenance or repair requirements . If the massage or heat

function does not wor k:

1. Make sure that the Automatic Timer Operation has not been activated. Press the

Power button to restart the massage. Press the Heat button to restart the heat.

2. Make sure the power transformer is plugged into an electrical outlet.

3. Make sure the electrical outlet is working. For example, make sure there are no

blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers.

4. Make sure all the connectors are secured; refer to the Assembly Instructions.

5. Make sure that the electrical cords are not crimped or pinched in any way.

Make sure the electrical cord or plug is not damaged.

If the massage system still does not operate proper ly, contact your dealer for

instr uctions on retur ning the unit for examination and repair. Except for replacement

of the power transfor mer, never attempt to make any repairs or adjustments yourself.

2-Motor Massage and Heat Power Transformer Replacement

If the power transfor mer must be replaced:

1. Unplug both power transformers from the electrical outlet.

2. Locate the 2-motor massage and heat power transformer connection;

refer to the Assembly Instructions.

3. Gently pull the connectors apart to disengage.

4. Push the replacement 2-motor massage and heat power transformer connector

into the mating connector; refer to the Assembly Instructions. Make sure the connectors

are securely fastened.

Troubleshooting for Thermo-Electric Cooler Function

There are no repair requirements . If the ther mo-electr ic cooler does not wor k:

1. Make sure the thermo-electric cooler power transformer is plugged into a working outlet.

2. Make sure the thermo-electric cooler switch is turned on.

3. Make sure the thermo-electric cooler connectors are secured;

refer to the Assembly Instructions.

If the thermo-electric cooler still does not work, contact your dealer for instructions

on returning the unit for examination and repair. Never attempt to make any repairs

or adjustments yourself.
