To reduce the risk of serious injur y:

Check the condition of the power transformers, electrical cords, plugs and
connectors monthly. Keep the power transformers and electrical cords away
from heat sources. Never operate the unit with a damaged power transformer,
electrical cord, plug or connector. Contact your La-Z-Boy
®
dealer for service.
•
Do not allow electrical cord to be pinched between moving parts or
between the frame and the floor. Do not place cord under carpet
or in location where it could become worn.

6. Identify the four electrical connectors at the back of the chair, under the seat (F

•
The two rectangular connector s are for the hand wand connection (F
IGURE
8).
•
The round connector is for the 2-motor massage and heat power
transfor mer connection (F
IGURE
8).
•
The black rectangular connector is for the ther mo-electric cooler
power transfor mer connection (F
IGURE
9).
7. Align the two rectangular hand wand connectors (some of the connector pins are
square, other s are round). Push the connector s together until they lock (F
IGURE
8).
8. Plug the 2-motor massage and heat power transfor mer into the round connector.
Make sure the connector s are securely fastened (F
IGURE
8).

Plug the ther mo-electr ic cooler power transfor mer into the black rectangular
connector clamped to the inside ar m. Push the connector s together until they
lock (F
IGURE

WARNING
10. Move the cords away from the base and hold the top arm closed to prevent the
cooler from falling out. Gently return the chair to the upright position. Make sure the
cords are not pinched in moving parts or under the base.

Provide a clear path for operation of the back and legrest. Place tables
and area r ugs at a distance to allow the legrest to fully extend without
r ubbing or interference.
WARNING
11. Choose a location for the chair that is close to an electrical outlet.
Proceed to the Operating Instructions.
NOTICE:
To prevent damage to the connectors and cords, it is
important to unfasten all connections prior to removing the back.
12. To remove the back, unplug the power transformers from the electrical outlet and
reverse the Assembly Instructions steps.
