Turning the Power On
Slide the main switch to the
ON position.
■♦The lens and the flash is set
• When you set the main switch to
OFF, the lens and flash retract
and the camera turns off

• Do not press on the lens or the flash.
• Be careful not to push the flash into the camera while
shooting. The flash will not fire and the power to the
camera will be turned off. (If you want to prevent the
flash from firing, change the flash mode to “Flash
OFF". (->31))
• If the lens is not set for shooting, check to see if the
battery is loaded correctly. (-> 13)
• The lens is initially set to the wide-angle position.
• When you switch the camera off, the display on the
LCD panel does not disappear.
