5 Loading the Film
The Cer>on AE- T uses color or bieck and
white tilm in starxlard 35mm cartridges.
Opening the Back Cover
To load a cartridge of film into the
camera, first open the camera's back cover
Pull up the rewind crank and the back cover
wrill pop open. The back cover can be securely
closed simply by pressing it until it locks.
The Carson Data Back A. $ n accessory for
imprinting data such as the day. month and
year, can be attached to the AE-1 in place of
Che back cover. (See page 63.f
How to Load the Film
Avoid direct sunlight when loading or
unloading the film.
Put the cartridge into the film cartridge
chamber artd press down while rotating the
rewirtd kry>b until it drops securely into
position. The protruding part of the cartridge
should be on the bottom. PuH the film leader
across ar>d insert the end into one slot of the
multislot takenjp spool. Turn the film ad*
vance lever and wind the film around the take*
