Close the battery bay latch by pushing it back into the computer until it is flush
with the computer casing.

You can connect an external keyboard or keypad with a standard connector to the
PS/2 connector on the computer by using an adapter available from Dell (see
Figure 5-5).

Turn off the computer before connecting or disconnecting a keyboard.
NOTE: You can use the built-in keyboard when an external keyboard is attached to the
computer.

As you work, you may want to use the embedded numeric keypad to enter numbers
in spreadsheets or financial programs (see Figure 5-6).
