Stand-Alone Operations: Crestron e-control™
Crestron e-control encompasses two different technologies. Crestron e-control has
both web pages that contain compiled Java classes that are usable from most
browsers and an ActiveX control (herein known as ActiveCNX™) that is usable
from Visual Basic, Internet Explorer, or any other ActiveX compatible development
environment such as Visual C++. Choose the one that best suits the application and
development capabilities.
With the Crestron e-control SDK pages can be created to send strings to the
CEN-COM device directly. In the button component use the parameters
PRESS_STRING, RELEASE_STRING, and OVER_STRING to send strings on the
button events press, release, and mouse over, respectively. These web pages can
contain web buttons that when pressed send a string to serial devices connected to
the CEN-COM. Also use the communication component, JCnx, to act as the message
dispatcher to and from all other components in a particular HTML page. Details can
