1. To make the predetermining figure wheels visible,
depress the lateral reset lever and hold (1). Set the
desired figure by means of the individual pushbuttons
on the counter face (sequence immaterial). After re-
leasing the reset lever the presetting pushbuttons are
blocked to avoid accidental operation of them.
2. Repetition of count: The preset cycle is repeated
simply by operating the black reset lever (1). (Press
lever back until „snap“).
3. Electrically: In standard type by switch contact (sin-
gle pole, double throw) making a circuit and breaking
at the same time a second circuit.

Arc suppression should be provided in the case of
inductive loads.
Counters with double predetermination permit the
simultaneous setting of two different preset numbers.
There are two predetermining wheels for each visual
figure wheel. The predetermining wheels are coloured
yellow for the first counting sequence, and white
for the second sequence.
Presetting is as described under 1. Move the pushbut-
ton frame to the right for setting the pre-contact and
to the left for setting the final contact.
The pre-contact is available as a wiper contact (dura-
tion of contact is for one figure only and is, therefore
dependent on the operating speed), or as a perma-
nent contact (contact remains on until counter is re-
set). For safe load of contacts refer to ratings under 3.
The set pre-contact must be inferior to the pro-
grammed end contact.

Attention
In standard design the counter resets itself automa-
tically to zero after reaching the preset number. The
duration of the resetting operation is approx. 1 to 1
1/2 sec. The black button is used for resetting the
counter at any time, independent of the automatic
reset. This is in case it is necessary for any reason to
interrupt the counting cycle before the preset number
is reached.
The models with automatic electrical reset have a
fuse with a rating of 1,25 A in the 24 V DC circuit
which will melt when the reset motor is overloaded.
Therefore, the reason for any breakdown of the
counter should be found and the fault cleared before
replacing the fuse.
The automatic reset is initiated by the final contact
(number set by the white digits). Do not preset the
counter to 00000.
For reliable functioning of these instruments, careful
handling is required. The counters are fitted with
self- lubricating sintered bronze bearings which will
not, as a general rule, require any particular attention.
Nevertheless, regular lubrication of the shaft bearings
with a few drops of a good grade sewing machine oil
is advisable each 50 working hours.
When a counter is used to control a machine or
manufacturing process damage may be caused to
the machine or the operator if the counter failed to
operate.
For this reason the following safety precautions
should be noted: On installing and using the counter
the prevailing rules for the prevention of accidents
should be observed. During installation care should
be taken to ensure that the power has positively been
switched off.

Attention
1. Rückstellhebel (1) nach hinten drücken und fest
halten. Dadurch werden die Vorwahlrollen sichtbar. In
beliebiger Reihenfolge die gewünschte Zahl eintasten.
Dann Rückstellhebel in die Ausgangsstellung zurück-
führen, dadurch werden die Tasten gesperrt.
2. Wiederholung: Zur Wiederholung desselben Zähl-
vorganges genügt die Nullstellung des Zählers durch
Betätigung des Nullstellhebels (1).
3. Elektrische Auslösung: Normal sind die Zähler mit
einem Umschaltkontakt ausgestattet, d.h. es wird
ein Stromkreis geöffnet und ein zweiter Stromkreis
gleichzeitig geschlossen.

Bei induktiver Last Funkenlösung vorsehen.
Zähler mit zweifacher Vorwahl ermöglichen die
Vorwahl von 2 verschiedenen Zahlenwerten. Für jede
Ablesezahlenrolle sind zwei Einstellrollen vorhanden,
bei denen zur Unterscheidung die Zahlen für den
Vorkontakt gelb und für den Endkontakt weiss
ausgelegt sind.
Vorwahl wie unter Punkt 1 angegeben. Tastenreihen
für die Einstellung des Vorkontaktes nach rechts
und für den Endkontakt nach links verschieben. Der
Vorkontakt kann als Wischkontakt (Kontaktdauer nur
während einer Zähleinheit, also abhängig von der
Zählgeschwindigkeit) oder als Dauerkontakt (bis zur
Nullstellung des Zählers) ausgeführt sein. Kontaktbe-
lastung wie unter Punkt 3 angegeben.
Die eingestellte Zahl für den Vorkontakt muss klei-
ner sein als diejenige für den Endkontakt.

Bei diesen Zählern erfolgt normalerweise die Nullstel-
lung selbsttätig nach Erreichen der vorgewählten Zahl.
Die Dauer des Nullstellvorgangs beträgt ca. 1 bis 1,5
Sekunden.
Die schwarze Taste dient dazu, das Zählwerk jederzeit
unabhängig von der selbsttätigen Nullstellung, also
auch vor Erreichen der vorgewählten Zahl, auf Null zu-
rückzustellen, sofern dies aus irgendwelchen Gründen
notwendig sein sollte.
In den Zählern mit selbsttätiger, elektrischer Null-
stellung ist eine Feinsicherung 1,25 A im 24 V
Gleichstromkreis eingebaut, die bei Überlastung des
Nullstellmotors durchbrennt. Bei Ausfall des Zählers
muss also zuerst die Ursache behoben werden und
danach die Feinsicherung ersetzt werden.
Die automatische Nullstellung erfolgt nur mit dem
Endkontakt. (Vorwahl auf weissen Ziffern). Nicht
00000 einstellen!
Um eine dauernde einwandfreie Funktion zu ge-
währleisten, ist eine schonende Behandlung dieser
feinmechanischen Geräte unbedingte Voraussetzung.
Die Zähler sind mit selbstschmierenden Sinterlagern
ausgestattet, die im allgemeinen keine besondere
Wartung erfordern. Trotzdem empfiehlt es sich, die La-
gerstellen von Zeit zu Zeit mit einigen Tropfen Lageröl
zu versehen.
Wird der Zähler zur Steuerung von Maschinen oder
Ablaufprozessen benützt, bei denen infolge Ausfalls
des Zählers eine Beschädigung der Maschine oder
ein Unfall des Bedienungspersonals möglich ist, dann
müssen zusätzliche Sicherheitsvorkehrungen getrof-
fen werden. Bei der Installation und beim Gebrauch
des Zählers sind die einschlägigen Unfallverhütungs-
vorschriften einzuhalten.
Während der Montage am Gerät unbedingt Netzver-
sorgung abschalten!
