BASIC DRILL OPERATING PROCEDURES (CON’T.)
UNFOLDING
CAUTION!
THIS DRILL HAS A NEGATIVE TONGUE WEIGHT WHEN UNFOLDED AND
RAISED. BE CERTAIN THAT THE DRILL IS HITCHED SECURELY TO YOUR TRACTOR DRAW
BAR AND BE CERTAIN THE HITCH SAFETY CHAIN IS SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE DRILL
HITCH AND TRACTOR BEFORE RAISING OR UNFOLDING THE DRILL!

1. Unfolding the drill is best achieved on level ground with
the tractor transmission in neutral.
2. Be aware of the clearance requirements of the unfold-
ing drill. Allow plenty of room to unfold and
DO NOT
allow
anyone in the area of the drill when unfolding.
3. Before unfolding, rotate the transport lock valve, locat-
ed on the base end of the master cylinder of the center
box, to its "open" position, Fig. 8.

4. Lower gauge wheels of the wing boxes completely.
DO
NOT
put the pull bar lock pin, Fig. 9, in the drilling position
until the drill is completely unfolded.
5.
SLOWLY
unfold the drill. Watch to be sure the hydrau-
lic hoses do not get pinched or kinked. Serious damage
could occur if the drill is unfolded carelessly.
6. Secure the pull bars into operating position by remov-
ing the pull bar lock pin from its storage position and plac-
ing it into its locking position after the wing boxes are
completely unfolded.
