Troubleshooting
Acremeter does not measure
accurately
NOTE:
Acremeter is most accu-
rate when seeding back and forth
with markers with few headlands,
curves and pointrows. Incorrect

Excessive overlap or gaps between
passes.
Avoid overlap or gaps. Check marker
adjustment, page 51.
Soil conditions.
Loose soil and slippage will cause
variations in acres registered.
Check that acremeter is for your width
of drill.
Refer to drill parts manual.
Actual field size different.
Verify field size.
Incorrect Acre Meter
Part Number: 890-870C: 221 tire revo-
lutions per acre.
Press wheels not compacting
the soil as desired
Too wet or cloddy.
Wait until drier weather or rework
ground.
Coulter set too shallow.
Check coulter adjustment in hitch
operator’s manual.
Drill not running level front-to-back in
the field.
Readjust top link to level drill.
Opener spring pressure too high.
Reduce opener spring pressure.
20 or 25 Series Openers - not enough
pressure on press wheels.

Excessive seed cracking
Excessive field speed.
Slow down. Check Seeding Rate
