Transport

Towing the drill at high speeds or with a vehicle that is not
heavy enough could lead to loss of vehicle control. Loss of
vehicle control could lead to serious road accidents, injury
and death. To reduce the hazard:
Do not exceed 20 mph (30 kph).
Do not tow a drill that, when fully loaded, weighs more

than 1.5 times the weight of the towing vehicle.

In the following table, multiply the total drill weight by
0.67 (

) to determine minimum tractor weight.

Warning Lights - Always use tractor and drill warning

lights in transport.

Safety Chain in Place (page 12) - Attach safety chain

to an anchor on tractor.

Clearance (page 52) - Know the maximum

dimensions of the drill in transport and follow a route
that provides adequate clearance from all
obstructions.

Drill Securely Hitched (page 12)

Openers Raised and Locked Up (page 16).

Stopping Distance - Allow sufficient stopping

distance and reduce speed prior to any turns or
maneuvers. If the drill is transported full, allow extra
stopping distance.

Tires (page 52) - Check that all tires are properly

inflated

Lockout Hub (page 17) - Disengaged.
Bystanders - Check that no one is in the way before

moving. Do not allow anyone to ride on the drill.

Road Rules -Comply with all national, regional and

local laws when transporting on public roads.
