How to carry out a backup:
1. Configure the USB stick with »IPC Backup & Restore« on the engineering PC.
2. Insert USB stick in industrial PC.
3. Boot up industrial PC.
4. Write backup through industrial PC to USB stick.
5. Insert USB stick in engineering PC.
6. Store data from USB stick on engineering PC.
The backup on the USB stick can be backed up on the engineering PC from the USB stick to
the hard disk of the engineering PC.

If the data of a backup are to be retransferred to the industrial PC, the USB stick must be
prepared accordingly using the Backup & Restore software.

How to restore an existing backup:
1. Select backup with »IPC Backup & Restore« on the engineering PC.
• Add backup to USB stick.
2. Insert USB stick in industrial PC.
3. Restart industrial PC.
• Data are transferred.
4. Reboot industrial PC.

Note!
A backup created with a USB stick contains configuration-dependent software
components. The CF card is not copied directly. A backup created with a USB stick
is designed for the regular backup of customer data.
