No playback on DVD
recorder:

There is no recording on the disc: Change disc.
b
You inserted the wrong disc type: Your Recorder can play the following disc types: DVD
Video, (Super)Video-CD, DVD+R(W), Audio-CD, , MP3-CDs
b
You inserted the disc the wrong way: Insert the disc with the label facing up.
b
The disc is dirty. Clean the disc.
b
Wrong region code: The region code of the DVD and the DVD Recorder must match.
b
The child lock is on. Read chapter 'Access Control (Child Lock)'
b
You have selected or set the wrong channel number on the TV for the DVD recorder: Select
the correct channel number on the TV (channel 3 or 4).
b
The cable connecting the TV and the DVD Recorder may be loose. Check the cable.
I cannot playback (Super)
Video CDs
b
It is possible that this (Super) Video CD contains a menu and the 'PBC' is switched off. You
can see this in status field 'PBCOFF'. To activate this function, proceed as follows:

Press SYSTEM-MENU while the (Super) Video-CD is inserted.

Select 'On' in line 'PBC' using CH-
B or CH+ A .

Confirm with OK and end with SYSTEM-MENU .
Poor playback on DVD
Recorder (distorted

Your TV is not properly adjusted.
b
The disc is dirty: Clean the disc.
b
Sometimes the picture may be temporarily distorted. This is not a defect of your DVD
recorder.
No recording possible.

The TV channel you want to record is not stored or you selected the wrong program
number: Check TV channels stored.
b
Disc is write-protected (cannot be recorded on): Remove write-protection or change the disc.

A finalized DVD+R has been inserted. Change disc.
Programmed recording
does not work:
b
You have set the wrong time or date: Check time/date.
b
You have not set the TIMER properly: Check the programmed recordings (TIMER block).
b
A locked disc was inserted: Remove disc lock.
b
A finalized DVD+R has been inserted. Change disc.
The wrong TV channel was
decoded (recorded) after
you programmed a
recording using the VCR
Plus+ system.

Enter the PlusCode programming number of the desired TV channel.

Confirm with OK .

Check the channel number in the 'Ch.' input field

If this does not correspond to the desired TV channel, select this entry field and
change the channel number.

Confirm with OK .
There is picture or sound
interference with the TV
reception.

Before recording, select the recording mode as described in chapter 'Manual Recording',
section 'Selecting the recording mode (quality)'.

Change the modulator channel. During standby hold on the remote the button 3 pressed to
switch to channel 3. With button 4 you switch to channel 4.

Have your antenna or cable TV signal checked.
Distorted sound coming
from a connected hi fi
amplifier

The DVD Recorder is connected to the 'Phono-input' of your amplifier: This input jack is
provided only for record players without a preamplifier. Connect to a different audio input.
