2. In some cases, a policy change may require you to enter or change
information on your handheld (for example, resetting your
password). Follow the on-screen instructions as directed.
A few examples of policy changes are listed below. Additional policy
changes may occur.

Enter your password to make sure it meets new policy
requirements. Policy requirements set by the IT
administrator may include:
– Setting a minimum password length
– Requiring or disallowing certain characters (upper/
lower case, alphanumeric combinations, and so on)
– Restricting password reuse (password history)
-–Adding password expiration
– Limiting repeated characters in passwords
– Restricting personal information (such as a user’s
initials) in passwords
IT Administrators can also set policies for:
– Setting a maximum number of attempts a user has to
successfully enter a password
– Erasing handheld information after a number of failed
password attempts

Global Address List Lookup has been enabled or disabled.

Timeout
Timeout values have been added or changed on your
handheld. No action required. You cannot lengthen or
disable timeout values set by your
