7. Messaging
You can read, create, send, and save your text, multimedia, and audio messages.
Some types of messages may not be supported by your network provider.
When sending messages, your phone may display the words Message sent. This is
an indication that the message has been sent by your device to the message
center number programmed into your device. This is not an indication that the
message has been received at the intended destination. For more details about
messaging services, check with AT&T.
■
Text and multimedia messages
You can create a message and optionally attach, for example, a picture. Your
phone automatically changes a text message to a multimedia message when a file
is attached.
■
Text messages
Your device supports the sending of text messages beyond the character limit for a single
message. Longer messages are sent as a series of two or more messages. AT&T may charge
accordingly. Characters that use accents or other marks and characters from some language
options, such as Spanish, take up more space, which limits the number of characters that
can be sent in a single message.
An indicator at the top of the display shows the total number of characters left
and the number of messages needed for sending.
Before you can send any text messages, you need to save your message center
number. Select Menu > Messaging > Message settings > Text > Message center >
Add center, enter a name, and the number from the service provider.
