To change the lock code do the following:

1. Tap

Change lock code

. Enter the current lock code (the default code

is 12345), and tap

2. Enter the new code, and tap

3. Enter the new code again, and tap

To enhance security, there is a short delay before

between each step.

If you tap

Cancel

in any of these dialogs, the device lock code is

not changed.

Keep the new code secret and in a safe place separate from
your device.

To lock the device with a code, briefly press the power key. In the

dialog, select

Lock device

. If you have not enabled the

security settings in the control panel, the

Enter lock code

dialog opens, and you must enter the code to lock the device.

To unlock the device, press the power key, enter the lock code, and
tap

Note: If you lose the device lock code, you must take the device
to a Nokia authorized service facility. To unlock the device, the
software needs to be reloaded, and as a result all data you have
saved in the device may be lost.

Touch screen and key guard

To lock the touch screen and keys, briefly press the power key, and select

Lock touch screen and keys

. To unlock the touch screen and keys,

press the power key and the center of the scroll key.

The touch screen and key lock is automatically enabled when the
protective cover is inserted over the screen of the device, and disabled
when the cover is removed.
