Troubleshooting
Monitor (analog external monitor/DVI monitor)
Refer also to your computer user’s manual and to your monitor’s
documentation.
USB
Refer also to your USB device’s documentation.
Problem
Procedure
Monitor does not turn
on
Make sure that the monitor’s power switch is on.
Confirm that the external monitor’s power cable
is plugged into a working power outlet.
No display
Try adjusting the contrast and brightness controls
on the monitor.
Press hotkeys Fn + F5 to change the display
priority and make sure it is not set for the internal
display.
Display error occurs
Check that the cable connecting the monitor to
the computer is attached firmly.
If problems persist, contact your dealer.
Problem
Procedure
USB device does not
work
Check for a firm cable connection between the
USB ports on the Port Replicator and the USB
device.
Make sure the USB device drivers are properly
installed. Refer to your Microsoft Windows
documentation for more information.
If you are using an operating system that does
not support USB, you can still use a USB mouse
and/or USB keyboard. If these devices do not
work, make sure the USB Legacy Emulation item
in HW Setup is set to Enabled.
This feature works only for mouse and keyboard.
Also, note that the mouse and keyboard must be
connected before you boot the computer.
A USB mouse, keyboard, and/or diskette
connected to the Port Replicator via any
connection other than a first tier hub, will not
work until the OS has started.
If problems persist, contact your dealer.
