Picture aspect ratio (AV mode only)
With the WSS function switched to “On”, select the
display format for 4:3 aspect ratio signal input.
1 Press HOME MENU.
2 Press / to select “Option”, and then press
ENTER.
3 Press / to select “4:3 Mode”, and then press
ENTER.
4 Press / to select “4:3” or “WIDE”, and then
press ENTER.

Item Description
4:3 Keeps the 4:3 aspect ratio and presents
side masks.
WIDE Wide image without side masks.
(factory default)

5 Press HOME MENU to exit the menu.
Changing the brightness at both sides
of the screen (Side Mask)
With the 4:3/FULL 14:9/CINEMA 14:9 screen size
selected for the AV mode, you can change the
brightness of the gray side masks that appear at both
sides of the screen.
1 Press HOME MENU.
2 Press / to select “Option”, and then press
ENTER.
3 Press / to select “Side Mask”, and then press
ENTER.
4 Press / to select the desired parameter, and
then press ENTER.

Item Description
Fixed Always sets the same brightness for the
(factory default) gray side masks.
Auto Adjusts the brightness of the gray side
masks according to the brightness of
images.
5 Press HOME MENU to exit the menu.
