Menu setting method
G LCD/Sound Menu
Backlight
The display will remain lit for about 10 (Initial
setting) seconds when a button on the
recorder is pressed.

Select
[Backlight] from the menu
on the [LCD/Sound Menu].

Select
[Lighting Time],
[Dim light Time] or [Brightness].
When [Lighting Time] is selected:
[5 seconds] [10 seconds]
[30 seconds] [1minute] [Always On]
When [Dim light Time] is selected:
[30 seconds] [1minute] [2minutes]
[5minutes] [Always On]
When [Brightness] is selected:
Adjust the setting between [01] and
[03].

Press
the
+ or − button to change
the setting, and then press
`OK
button to confirm the setting.
LED
You can set it so the LED indicator light does
not turn on.

Select
[LED] from the menu on the
[LCD/Sound Menu].

Select
[On] or [Off].
[On]:
LED light will be set.
[Off]:
Disables this function.
Beep
The recorder beeps to alert you to button
operations or warn you of errors. System
sounds may be turned off.

[Beep] from the menu on
the [LCD/Sound Menu].

Select the beep level.
• Adjust the setting between [05] and [00].
Language (Lang)
You can select the display language for this
recorder.

[Language] from the menu
on the [LCD/Sound Menu].

Set the Language.
[English] [Français] [Deutsch] [Italiano]
[Español] [Русский] [Svenska] [Polski]
[Čeština] [Danske] [Nederlandse]:
• The selectable language differs
depending on the region.

Accessibility (For DM-5)
This function can switch the structure of
the [Home] menu items according to your
purpose. This is useful when using frequently
the [DAISY] and [Text Speech] functions.
When [Accessibility] is set to [On], file selection
operation will be easier. If you choose one of the
playback functions (Recorder, Music, DAISY,
Text Speech) in the [Home] menu, the last file
played will be displayed automatically. Playback
will start when you press the
`OK button.
