3.7 Backup
The Backup menu option provided with Printgroove allows you, the Administrator, to backup
data that has been stored by and for Printgroove Serve and Guide . This data includes jobs and
their associated files, and site customizations such as web pages, images, contact information and
logos. The amount of data stored on a
Printgroove server can potentially become quite large. To
store this data safely, the backup system will split the backup data into chunks specifically sized for
your intended storage media. (The system does not back up directly to CD or DVD, but to a
temporary file directory in CD or DVD “chunks.”)
The Backup feature allows restoration of customer data should a disaster scenario occur. You will
restore from the rescue CD, load any patches that need to be installed, and then restore the data.
Select Backup from the menu to open this window.
Please Note that customizations made to the underlying Linux system are not backed up –
including any changes to the networking, such as the IP Address.
