SSL: Certificate Signing Request
An SSL certificate that generates a CSR, or Certificate Signing Request, provides encrypted web
communications verified by a third party Certificate Authority (CA) who digitally sign the SSL
certificate verifying that the site communications are secure. The CSR is a string of text generated
by your server software providing unique information about the site owner.
To create a new certificate, login as sysadmin, go to the Settings > SSL menu, and click the New
SSL Certificate link.
Complete the form shown to set up your new certificate, which includes:
•
Certificate Name: give your certificate a name
•
Host Name: identify your Host Server
•
Certificate Type: choose Certificate Signing Request
•
Certificate Duration: Select the time period from the pull-down menu (1 month, 6
months, or 1-3 years)
