Instructions for Use
The 1x24 DOCTERnightvision, a night vision device of the premium class, you have
purchased, is a top product of optical manufacture, highly sophisticated microelectronics
and fine mechanical precision. The device’s complexity requires exact observance of
the instructions for use in order to avoid malfunctions and damages.
Construction & Properties
This excellent night vision device not only features an outstanding quality of the image
intensifier used. To ensure full performance, also the optics in the lens and eyepiece
has been tuned to the specific needs of the high-grade tubes. Hence, most modern
image intensification tubes such as those used here are capable of reflecting small
details (high location frequencies) as well. In order to be able to image them
accordingly, the aberrations in the entire image field have been corrected.
The high-aperture optical system with a high image quality throughout the entire field of
view consists of the telecentric objective (eight lenses arranged in six groups and a
cover plate, optically effective surfaces with broadband VIS/IR, AR coating), and the
eyepiece (four lenses arranged in three groups and a cover plate, optically effective
surfaces with broadband anti-reflective coating).
The inner curve-bound adjusters both for the focussing and dioptre alignment are
equally easy to handle, precise, and quickly adjustable. Since the infinity position is
located on a fixed stop, it can be found easily. All adjusters are sealed by means of
toroidal rings.
The big diameter and distance of the exit pupil ensure, in conjunction with the
ergonomically shaped side light eyecup, a high observation comfort.
This rigid, monocular, passive night vision device with unity magnification in an
anodised light metal casing is oriented on the ANVIS specification in conformity with
MIL-L-49426(CR) and complying with ISO21094.
The unity magnification opens up comprehensive fields of use. This concept is
supported by the universal connecting options yet. Hence, adapters can be clamped
onto the rotation-symmetric casing, if the already integrated tripod adapter plate with its
¼“ tripod thread should not suffice. Besides, at the objective and the eyepiece side
end, there are connecting threads are available, where, for instance, filter and digital
cameras or even magnifying attachments can be mounted on.
A touch key is used to switch the device on and off silently. The integrated micro-
controller performs various additional functions such as the monitoring of the battery
voltage, the time-controlled switch-off, and the protective function against gross
negligent operation, where the tube will be switched off in case of too intense a light
incidence. The purpose of the automatic switch-off is merely to avoid any damage that
might be caused by inadvertent switch-on at daylight without the cap being put on. In
case of negligent handling, we reject liability for any warranty.
By adaption of the DOCTERspot IR radiator, which illuminates the whole field of
observation evenly, the system can be upgraded to an active night vision device.
