Installation

1.

Identify the connectors on the Transmitter (LC Fiber out) and Receiver (LC FIBER in)
as indicated on the product labels.

2. Verify that the distance between the Transmitter and Receiver is within MuxLab

specifications (see Specifications table).

3. To install the Transmitter:

3a. Connect the Transmitter to the SDI video source with a BNC 75-ohm coaxial

cable.

3b. Remove the white protective plug from the fiber connector. Connect one

multimode or singlemode optical fiber cable with LC connector. Keep the plug
and put it back if the fiber is not present.

3c. DO NOT LOOK into the fiber or module when the power is on.
3d. Connect the external power supply or the Hirose power cable if being powered by

an SDI camcorder that supports the Hirose interface. The power cable has a
locking mechanism, push the plug and rotate it until it locks.

4. To install the Receiver:

4a. Connect the Receiver to the SDI display equipment with a BNC 75 ohm compliant

cable.

4b. Remove the white protective plug from the fiber connector. Keep the plug and put

it back if the fiber is not present. Connect the other side of the fiber.

4c. Connect the external power supply.
4d. Power-up the equipment and verify the image quality. Verify that both power

LEDs are on. With a valid source check the transmitter side that the signal
LED is on, and on the receiver side that the signal LED is on.
