Turning on your computer for the first
time
In order to start up, your computer must have special sof
tware
(called system sof
tware) installed on the hard disk. Y
our computer
may have this sof
tware already installed.
To
see if your hard disk already has system sof
tware installed,
follow these
two
steps to tur
n on your computer
.
1.
Pr
ess the top of the main power switch at the back
of the computer
. The top of the switch is marked with
an “
i”.
This switch provides power to your computer
, but doesn

n it on.

n on your computer

Now your computer is on.
