Limited Warranty Statement
CLIÉ Personal Entertainment Organizer - Hardware Warranty
The limited warranty on the hardware of your CLIÉ Personal Entertainment
Organizer product (the “Product”) covers parts and labor against defects in material
or workmanship for a period of three (3) months from the original date of purchase
for Products purchased in the United States (excluding territories) or Canada from
SONY or a SONY authorized dealer. You can extend the warranty period for an
additional nine (9) months by registering your Product within ninety (90) days of the
purchase date. To register with Sony, register online at http://www.sony.com/peg/
support for United States sales (excluding territories) or http://www.sonystyle.ca
for Canadian sales. You may also register by calling the respective phone numbers
shown below. Once you register your Product, the limited warranty period is twelve
(12) months from the original date of purchase.
For the purpose of this Limited Warranty "SONY" means SONY ELECTRONICS
INC. for Products purchased in the United States (excluding territories) and SONY
OF CANADA LTD. for Products purchased in Canada. SONY warrants the hardware
of your Product against defects in material or workmanship as follows:
1. Labor: For a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the original date of purchase
in the United States (excluding territories) or Canada from SONY or a SONY
authorized dealer, SONY will, in the country in which the Product was purchased,
repair defects in material or workmanship in the hardware of the Product, at no
charge, or pay the associated labor charges to a SONY authorized service facility. The
ninety (90) day warranty period is extendible only to the original purchaser, for an
additional period of nine (9) months, for a total of twelve (12) months from date of
purchase when the Product is registered prior to the expiry of ninety (90) days from
the original date of purchase. After the applicable labor warranty period, you must
pay for all labor charges.
2. Parts: If your Product in the United States (excluding territories) or Canada, from
SONY or an authorized SONY dealer, for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from
the original date of purchase, dealer, SONY will supply, at no charge, in the country
in which the Product was purchased, new or rebuilt, at SONY's option, replacement
parts in exchange for defective hardware parts. Any replacement hardware parts will
be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or ninety (90) calendar
days from installation by SONY's authorized service facility, whichever is longer. The
ninety (90) day warranty period is extendible only to the original purchaser, for an
additional period of nine (9) months, for a total of twelve (12) months from date of
purchase when the Product is registered prior to the expiry of ninety (90) days from
the original date of purchase. After the applicable parts warranty period, you must
pay for any replacement parts. All defective parts replaced under this Limited
Warranty will become the property of SONY.
