Image area can be set using the [Image area] option in the
shooting menu or (at default settings) by pressing the Fn button
and rotating the main command dial.

Select [Image area].
Highlight [Image area] in the
shooting menu (pg. 290) and
press

Choose an option.
Highlight [Auto DX crop] or
[Choose image area] and
press

Adjust settings.
Choose an option and press J.
The selected crop is displayed
in the viewfinder (pg. 62).
