SEATING & POSITIONING

Application Instructions:

1. Make sure the cushion dimensions match those of the wheelchair.

2. Place cushion on the wheelchair seating surface.

3. Align the front edge of the cushion with the front edge of the

wheelchair seat.

Deluxe Gel Foam Cushions

Posey Deluxe Gel Foam Cushions are designed to redistribute

pressure away from high pressure contact points, to help

improve patient comfort and help control against sliding. Ideal for use

in standard or bariatric wheelchairs, or in geri-chairs.

Monitoring

Always follow your facility’s policies and procedures for

patient assessment, monitoring and rehabilitation.

Product Features

• A full seating assessment is recommended to determine the

appropriate size and configuration for your patient/resident.

• Zippered outer cover can be quickly removed for cleaning.

• Meets CA #117 flame retardancy standards.

• 20”, 22”, and 24” (51 cm, 56 cm and 61 cm) wide cushions feature

dual gel chambers.

Inspection

Inspect before each use: check for broken stitches;

or torn, cut or frayed material. DO NOT use soiled or damaged

products. Keep sharp objects away from cushion as they may

puncture the gel bladders.

Disposal

Properly dispose of the product per facility’s policy for

BIOHAZARDOUS materials.

Cleaning Instructions:

• Wipe Clean with mild detergent. OSHA approved

intermediate level disinfectants can be used per

manufacturer instructions. DO NOT use phenol and benzyl based

disinfectants.

• After cleaning, products MUST be rinsed with water to remove any

residual chemicals.

• Make sure products are completely dry before use.

Storage and Handling

This device is designed for use in normal indoor environments. This

device may be stored in ambient warehouse temperatures at normal

humidity levels. Avoid excess moisture or high humidity that may

damage product materials. Store cushion horizontally.

Warranty

All Posey Economy Gel Foam Cushions are warranted to perform as

indicated. The Posey Company will, at their option, repair or replace,

except for vandalism or other abuse, any cushion for a period of one

(1) year from date of purchase.

* Cushion cover features a pouch to hold a chair alarm sensor. Cat. 7224 comes complete with chair pad sensor.

** Cushion cover features brushed polyester fabric.
