Posey Deluxe Guard Rail Pads - Manual

Cleaning Instructions:
Wipe Clean with soap and water or
disinfectant.
DO NOT use cleaners that contain
Phenol or Benzyl.
Posey Deluxe Guard Rail Pads with padding help protect
patients from injury by helping close some of the gaps
along the side rail of the mattress and by cushioning the
side rails. They are available with a full-length window
(5605W) to help caregivers continuously monitor patients,
while allowing patients to see out and feel less confined.
Each Deluxe Guard Rail Pad attaches with hook and loop
straps and is made of durable, firm density foam and
covered in soft, water repellent vinyl. Meets CA #117, Section
E Flame Retardancy Standards.

Monitoring
Posey Deluxe Guard Rail Pads will not prevent a
determined patient from exiting the bed, going over or
attempting to go between or through side rail gaps.
AlWAys adjust straps when articulating the bed to help
prevent the product from coming loose or being damaged.
AlWAys follow your facility’s policies and procedures for
patient assessment, monitoring and rehabilitation.
Application Instructions:
1. Inspect product prior to use. DO NOT use soiled or
damaged products.
2. Raise the side rails to the “uP” position. Separate the
hook and loop straps.
3. Position the side rail pad on the inside of the side rail
with the straps facing out away from the bed. The top
strap section should hang over the side rail.
4. Pull each strap tight around the vertical side rail bar and
secure (Model 5605W only).
5. Check for proper fit. Modified beds may not be
compatible with Posey Deluxe Guard Rail Pads.

Disposal
Properly dispose of the product per facility’s
policy for BIOHAZARDOuS materials.
Storage And Handling
This device is designed for use in normal indoor
environments. This device may be stored in ambient
warehouse temperatures at normal humidity levels.
Avoid excess moisture or high humidity that may
damage product materials.
