4. Getting Started with TeleNav
The TeleNav application that resides within your BlackBerry requires a TeleNav subscription and means of
accessing the public Internet.
TeleNav Account
You can create a TeleNav account by visiting
www.telenav.com
, or by calling 888-353-6284.
Software Installation
TeleNav can be downloaded directly onto your BlackBerry using its Internet Browser.
NOTE: This approach may take 5-30 minutes depending on whether you are in GPRS or EDGE coverage.
1. Launch the BlackBerry browser, and press the MENU key. Select “Go to…”.
2. Input the OTA download link: //ota.telenav.com/ota/tn Press Enter, and select OK.
After the download process has completed successfully, locate the TeleNav application icon in the Pearl
applications menu.
Network Access
TeleNav uses the public Internet to access its servers for mapping, routing, and search services from your
handheld device. If you are not using your BlackBerry for e-mail services you will still need to add an individual
BlackBerry e-mail plan to have access to data services. There are three different network settings for you to select
from. Wait 90 seconds after turning your BlackBerry on to allow these services options to register. These access
methods are automatically determined by TeleNav when it launches, but you can change the settings from within
TeleNav Preferences.
Pairing your Bluetooth GPS Receiver
1. Turn on the Bluetooth GPS receiver, and make sure it is within 20 feet of the BlackBerry.
2. Highlight the Options icon, it looks like a wrench, and then press Enter.
3. If Bluetooth is disabled, press the MENU key and select “Enable Bluetooth”.
4. Then press the MENU key again, choose Add Device, and wait for the BlackBerry to find the GPS receiver.
5. After it finds the GPS receiver, highlight the GPS receiver, and press the Enter key to proceed with pairing.
When prompted, enter the GPS Bluetooth pass code. For a TeleNav GPS receiver, this code is “0000”.
6. Save your input, and then press the ESCape key until you return to the BlackBerry main menu.
