Different Types of SCSI Connectors
The data cable connects the CD-Writer Plus (standard high-density 50-
pin SCSI connector) to the SCSI card or to another SCSI device in the
chain. Since the SCSI card can have several different types of connectors
you will need to use a combination of cables and/or adapters that fits
your particular system.
Two common situations follow:
The SCSI card has a 50-pin SCSI connector
Use a SCSI data cable with 50-pin connectors at both ends.
The SCSI card has a 68-pin SCSI connector
Connect a 68-pin to 50-pin adapter to a SCSI data cable that has 68-pin
connectors at both ends. The adapter terminates 18 pins, which are then
unavailable to devices connected after the adapter. For this reason,
connect the CD-Writer Plus after any devices in the chain that use 68
pins.
