5 Troubleshooting
This chapter includes troubleshooting tips for problems you might encounter when installing,
upgrading, repairing, or uninstalling HP features for SCOM. For troubleshooting information about
problems you might encounter when using a management pack, see the user guide for that
management pack.
Monitoring view displays multiple HP Linux Servers folders and duplicate
alerts might be reported
If both the HP ProLiant Linux Management Pack for System Center and the HP ProLiant Linux and
VMware Management Pack for System Center are imported into your Microsoft System Center
Operations Manager environment, the Monitoring view displays multiple HP Linux Servers folders
and duplicate alerts might be reported for the same server.
Delete the HP ProLiant Linux and VMware Management Pack for System Center from SCOM. In
the Management Packs view of the Administration view, the display name for this management
pack is:
Hewlett-Packard ProLiant Server Management Pack for Linux and VMware
version 2.0.0.0
Monitoring view displays multiple HP VMware Servers folders and duplicate
alerts might be reported
If both the HP ProLiant VMware Management Pack for System Center and the HP ProLiant Linux
and VMware Management Pack for System Center are imported into your Microsoft System Center
Operations Manager environment, the Monitoring view displays multiple HP VMware Servers
folders and duplicate alerts might be reported for the same server.
Delete the HP ProLiant Linux and VMware Management Pack for System Center from SCOM. In
the Management Packs view of the Administration view, the display name for this management
pack is:
Hewlett-Packard ProLiant Server Management Pack for Linux and VMware
version 2.0.0.0
Retry option in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2 Installer does
not work
If required files are still in use when upgrading the SCOM Kit, the Retry option may not verify a
second time for files in use. Instead, the installer will proceed with the upgrade even if the identified
files remain in use. This issue is seen in Windows installer 5.0 version. For Windows installer 4.0
version the Retry option will work as expected.
This issue can be resolved with the following Microsoft Hotfix:
