Option D – Test Device Name

This is the default configuration, which allows NSPDIAG to communicate with
Atalla NSP through the Boxcar or ARM process interface.

6 - A6000 (Without IFM)

A discontinued model of Atalla NSP.

7 - A7000 (Without BOXCAR)

A discontinued model of Atalla NSP.

E - Ethernet (Without BOXCAR)

This configuration allows NSPDIAG to communicate with the Atalla NSP directly
without the Boxcar or ARM process interface. The IP address of the NSP must be
specified using

Option D – Test Device Name

.

A - ASYNC

This configuration allows NSPDIAG to communicate with the Atalla NSP directly
via the Atalla NSP asynchronous interface. When this configuration is selected,
NSPDIAG opens the Atalla NSP exclusively.

S - SERVERCLASS_Send to ARM

This configuration allows NSPDIAG to communicate to ARM using
SERVERCLASS_SEND calls. This configuration prompts for the ARM server class
name.

Option D – Test Device Name

The device name depends on the device type and the I/O configuration. This option
must be selected before testing can begin. The default is no device name.

When the configuration is G, the device name is the ARM or Boxcar process name that
is managing the Atalla NSP.

When the configuration is E, the device name is the TCP/IP address of the Atalla NSP.
If you have configured the Atalla NSP to use a port number other than 7000 in the
CONFIG.PRM file, you must also use

Option O – TCP/UDP port number

to set the port

number.

When the configuration is A, it is the device name of the Atalla NSP.

When the configuration is S, the device name is the ARM pathway process name.

When -D is selected, the current device name is displayed and the prompt for the new
device name is displayed. After the name is changed, the I/O configuration is set to
default. If

Option B – Batch File Name

was used to specify a batch file name prior to

setting the device name, the batch file name is deleted.

Note. You must set

Option C – I/O Configuration

to S and provide the ARM server

class name, then use

Option D – Test Device Name

to specify the ARM pathmon

process name.
