The DATAFILE option has the highest priority for specifying a database file, followed by a
COMINT ASSIGN command, and then
DATAFILE option and COMINT ASSIGN command are used with one COPY command, the
file named by DATAFILE is used. Only when DATAFILE and COMINT ASSIGN are not
used is the file named in
Dictionary in Current
Subvolume
Normally you can save keystrokes by selecting the subvolume containing
the database dictionary prior to entering the COPY command. This is
particularly true when you plan to enter more than one COPY command
for the same dictionary.
Unless otherwise specified with the DICTIONARY option, the COPY
command assumes the database dictionary is in the current subvolume. For
example:
