For each CHP ID connected to the storage system, run the following command:
MVS Display Matrix
Using the following syntax:
D M=CHP(CHP_ID)
The following figure shows a sample output of this command.

Verify that the information shown by running the command matches the device status that you
defined when you created the generation definition. If the information shown is incorrect,
redefine the devices to the host operating system.

If you restart the HP XP7 Storage while using HPAV, verify that the correct aliases are assisted to
a CU.
1.
On the host computer, enable the Hyper Parallel Access Volumes option.
2.
Run the DEVSERV QPAV command from the host.
For more information about the proper syntax and an example of this command, see

Verify that the aliases that are shown are those assigned for HPAV.

If the correct aliases for HPAV are not shown, and if the host only accesses the
corresponding HP XP7 Storage, complete the following:
- Disable the Hyper Parallel Access Volumes option on the host computer.
- Enable the option again.

If the host accesses other storage systems that use HPAV, run the following commands
from the host to all base devices in the corresponding CU:
V base_device_number1-base_device_number2,OFFLINE
CF CHP (channel_path1-channel_path2),OFFLINE
CF CHP(channel_path1-channel_path2),ONLINE
V base_device_number1-base_device_number2,ONLINE
