Features
You can set up a connection to an e-mail server so that you can send and receive e-mail
messages by using a modem or network connection and Inbox on your device.
The ISP or network must use a
POP3
or
IMAP4
e-mail server and an
SMTP
gateway.
You can use multiple e-mail services to receive your messages. For each e-mail service
you intend to use, first set up and name the e-mail service. If you use the same service
to connect to different mailboxes, set up and name each mailbox connection.
Setting up an e-mail service:

Open
Messaging
on your device, tap
Accounts
→
New Account
. Follow
the directions in the
New Account Wizard
.

Fill in you e-mail address then tap
Next
.
Next
will initiate
auto-configuration
which attempts to connect your PPC6600
to your e-mail server and automatically download the necessary e-mail
connection settings.

If
auto-configuration
is successful you can immediately begin sending/
receiving e-mails.

If
auto-configuration
is unsuccessful you will need to manually enter the
settings.

Enter
Your name
,
User name
and
Password
, then tap
Next
.

From the drop down menu select the
Account type
that your e-mail provider
supports (
POP3
or
IMAP4
).

Enter a
Name
for your e-mail account then tap
Next
.
