SAMPLE REMOVAL, SHIPPING, AND
ANALYSIS
Removing the Cartridge from the Sampling Head
Wear disposable, clean, lint-free nylon or powder-free surgical gloves
to handle the sorbent and cartridge.
1. Unscrew inlet section from cartridge
holder section.
Ensure cartridge remains vertical to
avoid loss of sample from fi lter.
2. Lift cartridge from cartridge holder
section.
3. Wrap cartridge in supplied foil or clean
aluminum foil and place in supplied
PTFE jar to protect sample from light and
contamination.
Transporting Samples
Package and transport samples and blanks under ice (< 39.2 F [4 C]) until
receipt at the analytical laboratory.
Sample Storage
Store samples under ice (< 39.2 F [4 C]) in the fi eld or at < 39.2 F (4 C) in a re-
frigerator in the laboratory. Extraction must be performed within seven days of
sampling and analysis within 40 days aft er extraction.
Lift cartridge from cartridge
holder section.

Wrap cartridge in foil and
insert in PTFE jar.
