FuncTiOnAL DescripTiOn
rTM644lnc measurement procedure
• Load the chamber using the plc controlled chain
conveyor and doors.
• Input of measurement data.
The measurement starts after the chamber has
been loaded and the doors are closed.
• Measurement time calculation based on
background level, background reduction (mass of
material), natural activity(s), path of disposal (alarm
levels), calibration, nuclide vector and statistical
parameters.
• Measurement result.
Display of measurement value
• graphic display of activity distribution and activity
position as a deviation from average value in %
• measurement value display in Bq, Bq/g, Bq/cm²
• large objects can be measured with open door(s)
Logged measurement data
• date and time of measurement
• material type and weight of measurement material
• session and operator
• specific activity in Bq/g and Bq/cm² and total
activity in Bq
• measurement limit exceeded
• nuclide-related activity
calibration
The use of a calibration is to get the relation of the
count rate to the activity and to take all influencing
factors into account.
service
The RTM644lnc is almost free of the service requirements.
The testing and calibration is supported by dedicated
software functions, such as a large array of self test, an in-
tegrated testing support function and the optional system
check module.
reFerences
The RTM664lnc has been delivered, successfully accepted
and is operating in the following plants (excerpts from
reference list):
Nuclear Power Plants:
Isar, Obrigheim, Mühlheim-Kärlich, Stade, Gundremmin-
gen, Krümmel, Würgassen, Ignalina (Lithuania)
Others:
Research Center Jülich (Germany),
Waste Repository Zwilag (Switzerland),
Technical University Munich (Germany),
GNS (Germany)
The RADOS lnc method (leading nuclide correlation) allows
the validation of all nuclides in the predefined vector. It
also simplifies the calibration procedure.
Although calibration can be performed by the customer,
RADOS is also offering a calibration service. The import of
existing calibrations is also possible.
