2.6 - Learning and Limit switch adjustment
Apollo has taken great care to simplify the installation, operation and safety of this device and to
ensure longevity and reliability of the unit over time. The learning procedure consists of the follow-
ing steps shown below:
1. Install all gate accessories such as Photo-Eye’s, Sensors, Loops and other safety devices.
2. Using the MOTOR DISCONNECT SWITCH, disengage the drive motor setting the switch on
OFF position (see figure 19)
3. Move the gate manually (with your hands) to ensure that the gate travels to the fully open and
fully closed positions with no binding or problems. Gate should move freely. The control board
is already in the “LEARNING MODE” when shipped. If not in learning mode press FUNCTION
then press LEARN then press SWING then press LIGHT, AVERAGE OR HEAVY, then press
ENTER.
4. Manually move the gate mid-way and re-engage the motor setting the MOTOR DISCONNECT
SWITCH on ON position (see Figure 19). Test motor direction by pressing OPEN. If the gate
instead CLOSES swap the RED and BLACK motor leads shown in Figure 13 & 14. Using the
OPEN button on the front of the Control board, hold the button down until the gate reaches the
fully intended open position.
