Removing and Installing a Fan Module
The FOX 4G Matrix 3200 has a single fan module. The
FOX 4G Matrix 7200 has two identical fan modules. The fan
modules are hot-swappable. If a fan fails, it should be replaced
at the earliest opportunity.

A hot-swappable fan can be removed or installed without
powering down the switcher.

Rotate the top and bottom knurled knobs to completely
loosen the captive screws.

Gently pull on the screws to loosen the fan from the
backplane.

Slide the fan out of the chassis.

Orient the fan to be installed so that the printing on the
back of the panel is right-side up.

Align the flanges on the fan with the top and bottom fan
guides (see the next page).

Gently slide the fan into the enclosure until the fan meets
resistance.

Gently seat the fan in the backplane.

.
Tighten the top and bottom knurled knobs/captive screws
to lock the fan in place.

If necessary, use a screwdriver to tighten the knurled
knobs/captive screws.
