Removing and Installing a Fan Module
The FOX 4G Matrix 3200 has a single fan module. The
FOX 4G Matrix 7200 has two identical fan modules. The fan
modules are hot-swappable. If a fan fails, it should be replaced
at the earliest opportunity.
N A hot-swappable fan can be removed or installed without
powering down the switcher.
1 . Rotate the top and bottom knurled knobs to completely
loosen the captive screws.
2 . Gently pull on the screws to loosen the fan from the
backplane.
3 . Slide the fan out of the chassis.
4 . Orient the fan to be installed so that the printing on the
back of the panel is right-side up.
5 . Align the flanges on the fan with the top and bottom fan
guides (see the next page).
6 . Gently slide the fan into the enclosure until the fan meets
resistance.
7 . Gently seat the fan in the backplane.
8 . Tighten the top and bottom knurled knobs/captive screws
to lock the fan in place.
N If necessary, use a screwdriver to tighten the knurled
knobs/captive screws.
