DataViewer
DataViewer is an enhanced terminal emulation program that facilitates analysis of RS-232,
USB, and TCP/IP communication with Extron devices. The software allows users to send
commands to a device and view the responses in ASCII or hexadecimal format. Command
and response logs can be saved in text or HTML format.

DataViewer
in the search engine to
locate the program.
Download the installation file and load the program on the PC connected to the EDID 101H.
NOTES:
•
Only the USB tab is available for the EDID 101H.
•
If an Extron USB device has never been connected to the host computer, after
installing DataViewer, you must then install and activate the USB driver (see
To run DataViewer:
1.
Click the DataViewer desktop icon.
2.
The
Communications
Setup
dialog opens.
Select the
USB
tab.
3.
From the
Port
Configuration
drop-down list
select
Extron
USB
Device
.
4.
Select the startup options.
To automatically connect to the EDID 101H, click
Auto-connect
on
startup
.
5.
Click
OK
to start using the program.
You are now ready to configure DataViewer or to
begin entering commands.

the program.
