3. Central Processing Unit (CPU)
This motherboard provides two CPU Slot 1s for Pentium III / II processors pack-
aged in SEC cartridges.
Pentium III / II Processor
You should check to see that you have the following items:
Lock Holes
Captive Nut
WARNING! Be sure that there is sufficient air circulation across the processor’s
heatsink by regularly checking that your CPU fan is working. Without sufficient
circulation, the processor could overheat and damage both the processor and the
motherboard. You may install an auxiliary fan, if necessary.
Two Pentium III/II Retention Mechanisms Two Attach Mount Bridges
(factory installed)
The recommended heatsinks (see section on recommended heatsinks for more in-
formation) for the Pentium III / II processor are those with three-pin fans that can be
connected to the fan connectors on the motherboard.
