INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Chock the rear wheels and jack up the front of the vehicle. Support with jack stands.
2. Remove the wheels using a 19mm socket.
3. Remove the lower strut nut using a 24mm socket as shown in Photo 1.
4. Remove the upper strut nuts using a 18mm wrench. See Photo 2.
5. Remove the strut from the vehicle.
6. Mark the stud location on the spring for reference.
7. Compress the spring using a strut compressor tool.
8. After the pressure has been relieved from the coil spring, remove the upper strut nut using a 15mm wrench. NOTE:
Do not attempt to remove the upper strut nut without relieving the pressure on the coil spring. The coil has
enormous pressure and can cause bodily harm or damage if not relieved before removing the upper nut.
9. Remove the upper stock strut hat, stock stud bushings and stud washers.
10. Install the Rough Country strut spacer on the stock strut with the supplied stem bushings and cup washers. See
Photo 3.
11. Install the supplied stem bushing and cup washer and reinstall the stock nut on the strut and tighten using a 15mm
wrench. See Photo 4.
12. Install the supplied self clinching 3/8” studs in the new
Rough Country spacer with the supplied 3/8” nuts using
a 9/16” socket and torque wrench. The studs will cinch at
approx 30-45 ft/lbs or torque. DO NOT over torque the
studs.
13. Reinstall the strut assembly on the vehicle and tighten
the supplied 3/8” nut using a 9/16” wrench. See Photo 5.
14. Reinstall the lower strut mount on the lower control arm
with the factory hardware using a 24mm wrench. Torque
to factory specifications.
15. Reinstall the tires and wheels. Tighten using a 19mm
socket.
16. Jack up the front of the vehicle, remove the jack stands
and lower the vehicle to the ground.
