RiFace G2
The RiFace is a universal radio interface to link wired
communication systems with radio systems. Originally
introduced in 1992, Riedel‘s RiFace established itself
as the standard for the integration of 2-way radios into
wired intercoms.
The new RiFace G2 expands the possibilities of the
highly acclaimed industry standard interface:
• Convenient operation via color display and rotary
encoder
• Advanced signalisation
• Slot for option cards
• Reduction in weight
• Enhanced thermal management
The 19”/2RU interface includes one or two radios,
processor logic to control the radios as well as circuitry
to adjust the levels of the various audio sources. Set-up
and operation is fast and easy.
The basic version uses one radio and provides one
simplex radio link. It either receives or transmits at any
one time, so that speech direction is changed by TX
modulation and TX non-modulation.
To adapt to a wide range of applications transmitter
keying can be done in various ways, i.e. by operating the
PTT switch, by call light signals on the 2-wire partyline
intercom, by vox-activation on the 4-wire audio input
(VOX) or via an external contact closure.
The extended version uses two radios and can be
programmed to provide either two independant simplex
or one semi-duplex radio link.
In semi-duplex mode one radio is set for permanent
transmission, the other one remains on receive. This
enables the mobile radio to permanently listen to the
base station while still keeping the opportunity to talk
back.
The extended version can also be operated as a re-
peater (frequency converter) for simplex radio links.
This setup also uses one radio for permanent
transmission while the other one remains on receive.
RiFace G2 can process both 2-wire partyline intercom
as well as 4-wire audio signals.
